The entry-level model of the new DIPLE II category, for portable microscopy with any tablet or smartphone.

DIPLE 2-S is suitable for a first approach to microscopy as well as for advanced users, thanks to its two lenses and multiple illumination modes.

DIPLE II allows microscopic observations in bright field (light transmitted through the sample), polarized light, dark field, and reflected light for opaque samples.

DIPLE II-S contains two lenses, one for medium-low magnification (25-250x) and one for medium-high magnification (90-900x), allowing to see details down to 0.9 micrometer. The kit also includes all the accessories needed for initial experiments.

Yes! DIPLE systems works independently on the shape or size of tablets or smartphones, because the camera of these devices lays on the DIPLE’s lens.

The DIPLE system becomes a full-fledged microscope when paired with the optics of a smartphone or tablet. It therefore doesn’t function like placing the phone on the eyepiece of a microscope; this optical configuration makes the system as compact as possible.

Since it’s a system that becomes a microscope when paired with a phone or tablet’s camera, some features depend on the device used. Magnification is one of these parameters.

A magnification range is provided for each lens; the highest value is achieved by applying a 10x zoom with the device app (a common zoom factor on many phones). The lowest value, however, is calculated by considering the ratio between the length of the subject observed on the iPhone 16 Pro screen, in video mode (35mm), and the actual length of the same subject.

The observed magnification factor depends on the size of the screen on which the image is viewed.

Optical resolution, on the other hand, is more closely related to the objective lens, therefore it is a most important parameter.

DIPLE 2-S is suitable for a first approach to the microscopy, as well as for advanced users thanks to its two lenses and multiple illumination modes.

DIPLE 2-S has two lenses and standard stage. Suitable for a number of applications, with direct, manual shift of the glass slides on the stage, under the DIPLE lens.

Silver Lens DII- Polarized lens 25x-250x: Lens with working distance of 2.5-3mm, suitable for use on the stage, or down the stage. Resolution up to 3um

Grey Lens DII – Polarized lens 90x-900x: Lens with working distance of 0.6mm, for high magnification. Resolution up to 0.9um

Standard Stage: a simple mechanical support for your samples, where you can directly shift your sample under the DIPLE lens.

You can use the lenses of DIPLE II even out of the stage, to see microscopic details of surfaces and opaque objects in reflected light.
