SmartMicroOptics Srl (SMO) is a startup of the Italian Insitute of Technology (IIT). SMO-US Corp. is the subsidiary company of SmartMicroOptics Srl in the USA. A newco, for supporting the purchase and service processes in the US market.

Our MISSION is to provide everyone with the tools to explore the micro-world, through a family of innovative and affordable products in the field of microscopy.

Hundreds of teachers in Schools, Colleges and Universities around the World are already using our systems for their Science lessons or for their studies. Thosands of Science fans are using DIPLE and Blips to explore and discover the microscopic world.

Our vision is to continuously develop our technologies, replicating the wide variety of optical microscopy systems already on the market on a scale that makes them portable and instantly internet-enabled. The ever-evolving connectivity, software, and optical performance of smartphones and tablets potentially enable timely access, anywhere, to microscopic images (transferable and processed in real time) of various types of samples. This will provide the means for widespread monitoring of a wide variety of microscopic subjects across the country. The modular and expandable structure of the DIPLE systems serves as the hardware backbone of this model.
